This content applies to all versions since version 4.1.0
In order to enable the modal notifications, an admin must go to Settings > User interface
Here, the checkbox Enable modal notifications has to be checked. After enabling the checkbox and saving you will start using the modal notifications.
For new installations and for previous versions the checkbox will be unchecked.
